To change your password

Before changing your password, please remove your saved old password from all your devices, e.g., the email app on your smartphone or the password manager on your laptop, which automatically connect to a service. Otherwise, your ITZ account may be temporarily locked repeatedly!

When changing the password for your email account, programs like Adobe, BayZeit, or Office (Studisoft) are not affected, as they use a password that is independent of OTH credentials.

If you are using Windows PCs that are part of the domain, please make the password change within the university network using a connected LAN cable whenever possible. All other Windows PCs connected via LAN cable (!) should be rebooted multiple times so that their password is synchronized.

Until the password has been synchronized, you must continue to use the old password to log in.

You can change your password on the Password page. You will now be asked to log in. If you were already logged in to an Office 365 page beforehand, you will be redirected automatically.

Now click on “Change password”.

Then enter the new password

If everything worked correctly, a confirmation message will appear.

Please remember to also update your password in all programs where it has been saved — for example, the email app on your smartphone, Wi-Fi, VPN, Outlook, etc.
